Growing Community through our Strategic Plan

Vital to our work is the need to engage our community more consistently in the school's philanthropic goals. The release of our new five-year strategic plan allows us to do that in a very focused way. The plan explicitly states where we want to be tomorrow, next year, and five years from now. It gives us specific direction in a number of interdependent areas for the first time in 40 years. Such a multi-pronged approach means one area does not suffer at the expense of another. It means taking a balanced approach to sustainability just like the healthy unfolding of childhood. In terms of fundraising, this also means having ongoing dialogue so that everyone understands why we ask for charitable contributions and what your dollars will provide this year and in the future.

How will my Gift be Used?

When you donate to the campaign, your gift directly helps a student. Whether you give $25 or $25,000 or anything in between, your gift makes a direct positive impact on the area of your choice.

Tuition Adjustment Program

Help us strengthen the school's ability to provide Waldorf education to all families, regardless of economic means. The Tuition Adjustment Program provides reductions to a family's tuition fees for students in Nursery through Grade 12, based on financial need. Donations may be directed towards the general Tuition Adjustment Program, the Alumni/ae Rudolph Fund or the creation of any special Named Fund "in Honour" or "in Memory" of a loved one. You get to choose based on your needs and your personal association with Toronto Waldorf School.

Chairs and Desks for Grades 2, 3, & 4

Help us support our students' classroom experiences in Grades 2, 3, and 4 by replacing their current

well-worn chairs and desks with new ones. Over the last several years we have been upgrading chairs and desks and now have only three classrooms to complete. The need for students to sit appropriately, using "correct posture" with "feet on the ground", is an important consideration when working with education from a deeper perspective™. Ergonomically designed chairs and desks will be purchased in required sets per class.

Grade 12 Scholarships

Help us support our roster of financial awards given at graduation to Grade 12 students who have made significant contributions in various academic areas.

Growing Community through Philanthropic Support

The very first Waldorf school opened with the financial backing of a private donor, Emil Molt. It was Rudolf Steiner's vision that Waldorf education would one day serve children all over the world, but it took individual philanthropy to turn the idea into reality. The mission to offer a Waldorf education is carried with the same passion today as it was some 90 years ago, and so is the need for philanthropy to support it.

An Annual Giving Campaign is one way schools like ours raise funds to help bridge the gap between tuition income and expenses. We are asking for support from everyone who believes Toronto Waldorf School is an important cultural institution that needs to be sustained, not just for the benefit of today's students but for tomorrow's as well.

As we embark on our 40th year, we also want to do more than simply sustain ourselves. As Canada's first Waldorf school, we want to become a beacon in the local community and beyond, known for a curriculum and approach to education that best serves children today. We want to show the world how our program inspires our students to evolve into creative thinkers who are personally centred and strongly connected to humanity and the environment.
