Admissions Process


1. Visit TWS – Attend a Tour, Open House or personal appointment

  • A Tour views classrooms from Grade 12 to Grade 1. It provides an overview of the philosophy and curriculum by observing classes 'in action‘. There is time afterward to address questions. Tour dates.
  • An Open House has student work on display, opportunities to speak with teachers and visit the school and grounds. Classes are not conducted during an Open House. Open House dates.
  • If neither of the above are possible for you, please contact our Admissions Coordinator, Aileen Stewart, to discuss.
  • A personal appointment may be scheduled with Aileen Stewart, Admissions Coordinator, 905.881.1611 ext. 314

2. Submit an Application

  • Download the application (PDF)
  • Complete and return to Aileen Stewart, Admissions Coordinator by fax to 905.881.6710, delivery or mail 
  • Enclose the application fee (non-refundable)
      • $125 Nursery through Grade 12
  • Note the age requirements for each grade on the application form

3. Admissions Interview

For all students from Nursery through Grade 12

Early Childhood:

  • Interview with you, your child and the teacher

Grades 1-8:

  • Your child meets with a teacher while you meet with the Admissions Coordinator

Grades 9-12:

  • You and your child will attend an interview with the High School Class Advisor.
  • If there is no opening in the appropriate class, the student's name will be added to a waiting list.

4. Class Visit

  • Early Childhood students do not visit classes
  • Grades 1-8: students attend class at TWS for a few days.
    • Students experience school days and their peers at TWS
    • Teachers see the student at work in the class setting
    • You will meet the class teacher following the visit
  • Grades 9-12: visits may be arranged if desired, but are not typically required

5. Sign the Contract

  • When the student is accepted, the Admissions Coordinator will produce a contract
  • A short appointment with the Business Manager and Development Officer is set up to review the contract and payment options. The Tuition Adjustment process may be discussed at this point if appropriate.

6. Timing

  • Spaces are typically identified in early March, for the following September.
  • Interviews may take place at any time
  • Where space permits a student may enter the class during the school year.
