How to Apply for a Tuition Adjustment Award

Returning families who are applying for a tuition adjustment award still need to sign their 2008-2009 enrolment contract and return it to the business office (with plan D checked off) by February 29, 2008.

New families may apply for a tuition adjustment award after their school application has been accepted.

All families must follow this step-by-step process for filing an application:

1. Pick up a Financial Aid for Canadian Students (FACS) application form from the business office or download it (PDF, 151 KB) and print it. The application form includes the Parents' Financial Statement.

2. When completing the application, please pay attention to the following details:

a. Include copies of your most recent Canada Revenue Agency Notice of Assessment, as well as any relevant financial statements if you own or are involved in a business, and any rental income you receive.

b. File only one application for each household regardless of the number of student applicants.

c. There is an exception to b. above for separated or divorced parents. See section 22 on page 3 of the FACS form.

3. Send your application directly to Apple Financial Services, not to Toronto Waldorf School. The address is included on the form.

After you have applied:

If you send Apple Financial Services an incomplete application, you may receive a follow-up phone call from one of their staff.

Toronto Waldorf School (not Apple Financial Services) will notify you by letter in early April (or, for new family applications, from two to four weeks after filing) regarding the status of your application.

You will be given two weeks to confirm your acceptance of the tuition adjustment award you have been offered.

Your confirmation of acceptance requires a fee deposit of $600 and pre-authorized payments for the remaining balance.

If you do not confirm acceptance of your award by the date provided in our letter, you will forfeit your tuition adjustment award, and these funds will be redirected to another family that could benefit.

Apple Financial Services does not make decisions about the amounts of financial aid awarded. It makes recommendations only. The final decision is made by the Tuition Adjustment Committee at Toronto Waldorf School.
