Full day Kindergarten
Full day Kindergarten is designed to meet the needs of children who will be at school until at least 3:30. Currently one class offers this full day program. The rhythm of this program is similar to the morning program, while providing lunch, a rest period and more time outdoors. The schedule will be adapted to meet the needs of each specific group of children.

A hot, organic lunch is eaten quietly together in the Kindergarten classroom, beginning with a verse of appreciation. |
|
• This atmosphere helps the children focus on eating lunch after an active morning. |
| • |
The afternoon teachers changeover with the morning teachers during lunch allowing for a seamless transition. These afternoon teachers continue with those in the group who stay for the after-school program. |

Some play time follows, then all lie down to rest. The teachers play soft music, and perhaps tell a story. Some children sleep while others lie quietly and absorb their day so far. Beeswax modelling or a gentle back massage help some to settle. |
| • |
Once refreshed, the children move outdoors to play. |
| • |
Teachers take the children to the enclosed Kindergarten garden, go for walks, have adventures in the school forest, visit the chickens or sheep in our school farm, build stick houses, swing, slide, climb or make rivers in the sandbox. The natural resources of the TWS grounds provide a wide diversity of options for curious, active children. |

Warm and wet weather clothing is needed to ensure children will fully benefit from this rich playtime. |
At 3:30 pm children are picked up to return home, or stay to attend the After-School program.
