  • Play the game for the game’s sake
  • Be generous in winning
  • Demonstrate grace in losing
  • Be fair at all times, no matter what the cost
  • Observe the rules of the game
  • Work for the good of the team
  • Accept gracefully the decision of the officials
  • Believe in the honesty of your opponents
  • Conduct yourself, at all times, with honour and dignity with no offensive language during games or in other areas of the school
  • Be respectful of the facilities, equipment and staff of the home and host school
  • Recognize and applaud honestly and wholeheartedly the efforts of your teammates or opponents.

 

Toronto Waldorf School Athletics Code of Ethics for Spectators  

  • Treat the premises, students, staff and players of the participating schools and the officials with respect and courtesy.
  • Accept gracefully and abide by the decisions of the officials whether or not they are in favor of your team.
  • Respond politely to the requests of the officials.
  • Remain seated in the areas designated for spectators and leave the playing surface clear at all times.
  • Be polite and courteous and use only appropriate language
  • Refrain from any behavior that might distract the athletes or interfere with the progress of the game.
  • Applaud good plays and never make derogatory remarks about the officials, players or coaches of the opposing team.
  • Refrain from bringing food, coffee or drinks other than water into the gymnasium.
  • Remove all street shoes, boots, or footwear other than running shoes before entering.
